In the office…
As Dad’s business, Rigby Financial has always been part of my life, but I officially came on board in 2002 and I’m now Managing Director alongside my older brother, Simon.
Day-to-day, I oversee the running of the general insurance side of the company. Managing a team of 12, I take the lead on strategic growth and business development, whilst ensuring I always remain hands-on with a portfolio of commercial and high net worth clients.
On days off…
I’m not very good at sitting still, but being married with two active kids, a bonkers dog, and involved with a host of voluntary work, means I don’t get much opportunity anyway!
An ‘ideal’ day off for me would probably involve getting out on my bike or heading to the gym…but it’s more likely to be spent ferrying the kids about, coaching football, or working through the DIY list.
If I wasn’t an insurance broker…
Ha, it’s fair to say going into insurance wasn’t plan A.
I love being active, so originally I hoped to be a PE teacher or a police officer but sporting injuries and dodgy knees put a stop to that.
Word in the office is that I make decent brew, so maybe in another life I’d be running my own coffee shop somewhere.
